Artificial Intelligence

Intelligence is the ability to perceive information, retain it as knowledge and apply. When machines demonstrate intelligence its called Artificial Intelligence.

In layman terms Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be described as machines that mimic and display human cognitive skills that are associated with human mind such as learning and problem-solving.

AI applications include Web Search Engines, Recommendation Engines, Optical character recognition (OCR), language traslation applications such as Google Translate, automated game engines for chess such as alphazero and stockfish, self-driving cars, voice based search engines such as Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.
